No Gluten for Vladimir Putin

Will gluten addicts embark on a new wave of protests at our humble South Bay Donusylum?  What's a gluten anyways? Isn't it awesome that Gluten rhymes with Putin (more on that below)?

For our gluten-lovin' fans, 'donut' worry... We will continue to make all your gluten-laden favorites!

Ever since the auspicious launch of Psycho Donuts, customers have challenged us to take donuts to unthinkable places.  We've donutized everything from tacos, pizzas, ice cream sandwiches, to sushi. We've placed edible bugs on donuts...  Along the way, we invented our own line of vegan donutrocities.

And today, we are bouncing off the proverbial rubber walls with glutenous glee, as we announce...

'Gluten Free–Range' Donuts at Psycho Donuts!
Pstarting Psporadically on Friday, January 24

Psycho Gluten Free–Range Donuts enjoy a cage-free doughy existence, until they meet their maker. Initially, they will be available only on certain days of the week. Follow us @psychodonuts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, (and the other likely suspects...) for availability updates. Hint: Call in your order to the nurse on duty (408-533-1023), to ensure you exit the asylum with a gluten-free smile on your crazy face.  Jackie Burrell at the San Jose News Group had this to say.

Although Psycho Donuts does not have a gluten free kitchen, we make every attempt to meet your crazy needs for a gluten-restricted diet.  For this reason, we've teamed up with Melinda's Gluten Free in Santa Cruz.  Melinda provides the 'naked' gluten-free donuts, and the Psycho kooks dress them up for Psycho Pstardom.   Although we make every effort to avoid cross-gluten contamination, be aware that our Gluten Free-Range donuts occasionally have social interaction with their gluten-containing cousins, in the Psycho donut case.

And now, lettuce take a closer look at Psycho's new line-up of Gluten Free-Range Donuts!

The Sticky Pig
Golden Cake, Maple Icing, Crispy bacon. It's Gluten-free goodness without sacrificing the pork!

Chocolate Madness
Chocolate cake, Chocolate icing, Chocolate sprinkles.  It may be gluten-free, but it's still a chocoholic's dream donut!

Sochi's Choice
It's Red! It has a winter white blanket of cheesecake icing. Even the press concurs that the Winter Olympics in Sochi is INSANE...  which make Sochi the perfect victim for a Current Event Donut!  Who cares if it's too warm for snow...  We'll manufacture our own white blanket of cheesecake icing, atop the doughy slopes of this gluten-free donutrocity. Sochi's Choice is Vladimir Putin's favorite non-gluten (say that 10 times).

Psycho Pstrawberry Psupernova
Chocolate cake, Vanilla icing, and a gluten-reminiscent explosion of Strawberry drizzle.

Gluten Free-Range Donuts – roaming the Psycho Donuts display case sporadically, starting on Friday, January 24!

Rocking Around the Psycho Tree

The Psycho kitchen is transforming itself.  The pilgrim cooking staff gets replaced by crazy elves; and Chef Ron has to figure out how to replace Drunkin' Punkins with our crazy Christmas lineup.

Grandma's RevengeHeadbanger has morphed into a 'reindeerbanger' throughout December!  And it's time to find a new campy Christmas song, because Grandma get herself a shotgun. This donut will make any Grandma-targeting reindeers think twice before running over Grandma.

Psycho Sufganiyot. For those rocking the remaining 8 days and 7 nights, come get our Psycho Psufganiyot. Is it Kosher? Is the Pope Jewish?

Jingle Ballz. You've seen our Piggy Ballz, Wookie Ballz, and Zombie Ballz... But our Jingle Ballz are the happiest balls on the planet. They come in shades of red and green, filled with custard, and topped with fresh snow.

Psycho Wreath. For our vegan friends, this green crueller is pretty enough to mount on your front door – if it weren't for your neighbors coming to take a bite out of it.

Reindeer Droppings. Filled with mint chocolate, and topped with the best kind of reindeer droppings - chocolate covered raisins!

Psycho Tree. For those with a lesser tolerance for juvenile donut humor, the Psycho Tree is a triangular raised donut, iced in green, with Mini M&M's and a vanilla drizzle. You can even bring this one to your grandparents without offending!

Lumps of Coal. Got a naughty kid in your household? We have just the thing.  Lumps of Coal are filled with mint
chocolate, and topped in coal (aka Oreo cookie dust).

Come and get your Psycho Pseasonals before they're gone!

And 'donut' miss our annual art show, highlighting the works of local, original artists:

"A Very Psycho Holiday GIFT ART Show"
Runs from Dec. 1st to January 10th 2013

You'll find crazy, original artwork which brings together themes of Christmas, Psycho Donuts, and elements you'll only find in Silicon Valley.  Original artwork for as little as $40!  Now that's Psycho..!  Images above courtesy of Nicolas Caesar.

Pseasonal Psycho Pspecialties Psummarized

The holidaze are now fully unleashed at Psycho Donuts! Check out some of the latest donutrocities that Chef Ron has unleashed upon the world.

Grandma's Revenge. Grandma got herself a shotgun, and the reindeer are leaving her alone this year. It's time to find a new campy Christmas song, because Grandma will NOT get run over by any more reindeer!

Psycho Psufganiyot. For those rocking the Hanukah bush, come get our Psycho Psufganiyot. Is it Kosher? Is the Pope Jewish? Still and all, it's a great traditional Psufganiyot, if you're able to overlook the Silent P (we can't help ourselves).

Jingle Ballz. You've seen our other varieties of Psycho Ballz. But these are the happiest balls on the planet. They come in shades of red and green, filled with custard, and topped with fresh snow.

Psycho Wreath. For our vegan friends, this green crueller looks worthy of mounting on your front door, if it weren't for your neighbors coming to take a bite out of it.

Reindeer Droppings. Filled with mint chocolate, and topped with the best kind of reindeer droppings - chocolate covered raisins!

Psycho Tree. Admittedly less crazy than Reindeer Droppings, the Psycho Tree is a triangular raised donut, iced in green, with Mini M&M's and a vanilla drizzle. You can even bring this one to your grandparents without offending!

Lumps of Coal. Filled with mint
chocolate, and topped in coal (aka Oreo cookie dust), these are the perfect gift for the naughtiest kids on your Christmas list!

Come and get your Psycho Pseasonals before they're gone!

In Psycho Prize news, huge congratulations to TK Garcia - a Psycho Facebook fan who won the Psycho Ding Fries are Back video contest. Psycho Donuts challenged its fans to create a video based on the original Ding Fries are Done YouTube video. Admittedly, Ms. Garcia put together more of a song than a video, but catchy nonetheless. Wait for the scream... She is the proud winner of a Psycho Pseasonal Donut Pizza. 14 inches of pure Christmas Psycho insanity! Let's hope she uploads some photos.

Congrats are also in order for Psycho Facebook fan, Kishna Woo-Hare, who was the first to answer the CATS trivia question, earning two tickets to see CATS at Broadway San Jose.

Merry Hanukah, and Happy Christmas to all our Psycho Friends, Fans, and Pstaff!

Monster MashUp, Zombie Ballz, The Exorcist, and it must be October

Halloween is upon us, and the world is expecting craziness from Psycho Donuts this year! So let's get into it!

Our Psycho kitchen is working frantically on an insane variety of donutrocities, including Zombie Ballz. Get a tray of them for $2.50; or if you just want a couple, order a pair of Zombie Cajones for a buck. No wonder zombies are always so agitated...! Launching end of September.

Then there's Trick or Treat. These donut holes all look the same, and most of them are a treat... except when they're not! Watch out for the tricks!

Like Cruellers? Then you'll love our Zombie Crawller. This crueller is light and fluffly on the inside, but is pure zombie on the outside. Is that the definition of fusion?!

Our annual Psycho art show is creeping up.

Mark your Google Calendar for
October 15, starting at 10am for
Psycho Monster MashUp!

We're mashing together original artwork (by local artists such as Christine Benjamin, Nic Caesar, John Hageman, Michael Foley, Lacey Bryant and more), along with Psycho Karaoke in the padded cell. If you've never experienced Psycho Karaoke, you haven't lived! Join us with our fearless karaoke leader, Bruce Rogers of Korkaraoke.

Mash that up a little further with off-the-wall donuts, and zombified nurses - and there you have it!

Psycho Donuts has its own radio station at
SaveAlternative.com! Led by our own Nurse Dylan, Guilty Pleasures is a weekly radio show, which airs 6pm pst every Monday night. Tune in to hear all the songs you like, but might be afraid to admit. Got a song request? Send us a suggestion!

Its raining new nurses at Psycho Donuts! We'd like to extend a CrAzY Psycho welcome to Nurses Aleena, Lea, Emmie, Megan, and Kim.

If Psycho Donuts didn't already have a cult following, it does now! Psycho
San Jose, in conjunction with Camera 3 is extending its cult movie series!

Check out Rocky
Horror Picture show every other Saturday night - with live cast Barely Legal. Join us for upcoming Rocky showings on Saturday, Oct 1 and Saturday, October 15. And its The Exorcist, showing October 13 and 15. You never know what kind of donuts we might create in honor of these crazy good films!

Our Psycho Vegan department is giddy to announce the release of our October Vegan of the Month: The Blueberry CheezFake. Donut tell the carnivores this one is vegan and they might even like it... It's a blueberry vegan cake donut, topped with graham cracker crumbs, and a cheesecake buttercream. Vegans unite!

Check out the new variety of crazy drinks in the Psycho Campbell Cooler. In addition to our usual line-up of Duff Beer and Zombie energy drinks, we now have a wide array of unusual flavors including Cock and Bull, and Rat Bastard. They fun and funny to drink, all at the same time!

National Smores Day and Arnold Palmer

This Wednesday, August 10, is National S'mores Day. Do you think we make these things up just to sell S'mores Donuts? What are we, crazy? Show your patriotism, and get a S'mores donuts - ranked among the Top 10 Donuts in the US by Maxim Magazine - only at Psycho Donuts!

Arnold Palmer is in the house! That crazy combination of bitter
iced tea with the sugary rush of lemonade has been donutized! The Arnold Palmer is an iced tea-infused vegan cake donut, topped with a lemonade icing. Why drink an Arnold Palmer, when you can eat one - all month long in August at Psycho Donuts!

If an Arnold Palmer donut doesn't strike you as a little over the top, then maybe this one will. Everyone remembers that scene in Willy Wonka, where Violet Beauregard turns into a giant blueberry. If you enjoyed that
scene, and you like blueberries - then it's a pretty good bet you're gonna love our new Psycho Ballz creation... Violet Ballzregard. These blueberry-enhanced donut holes will put a smile on your face and you might even be compelled to sing the oompah loompah song.

This Saturday, August 13, donut miss Psychic@Psycho. Bay Area psychic Irma Slage will be giving 6 minute psychic readings - within the Psycho Padded cell - for only $10. Come see a psychic at Psycho at either Psycho Donuts locations. Irma will be at Psycho Campbell from 10am - noon; and then at Psycho San Jose from 8pm - 10pm.

Smashing Mouths, Rosie Pearez, and Crazy Donut Cakes

Rosie Perez - er Pear'ez - is in the house! Have you tried our new Rosie Pear'ez? Do The Right Thing, and try one throughout July at Psycho Donuts! Rosie Pear'ez is a rose water-spiked vegan cake donut contraption, topped with a pear icing, and toasted pistacios. Chef Ron had to mix a blend of salted and unsalted pistacios in order to get the psycho flavor he was chasing after. The result is a Psycho Psavory Psensation! Watch for more Psycho Psavories in the near future. Donuts aren't just for sugar-fiends anymore!

Did you notice that psychodonuts.com now point
s to Psycho Donuts? What a concept, eh? No longer will you be presented with the out-of-fashion perspectives of Psycho naysayers - at the URL which we were destined to own!

Chief Psycho is smashing mouths! Or more accurately, he's been invited to the Smash Mouth concert at Villa Montalvo on Thursday night, July 7. Get tickets and join the crazy fun! Rumor has it that members of Smash Mouth will be ingesting large quantities of eggs prior to the show. Why? Who cares. But for the record, they should be eating Psycho Donuts instead... Congrats to Psycho Facebook Fan, Ramirez Cain - who won two tickets in our Smashmouth triva contest! Like us on Facebook and see every concert for free (and now this from our Psycho Lawyers: that statement is absolutely untrue).

With a common name like Pam Smith, who knew the girl could be a Psycho Wunderkind. Pam is our
Psycho Donut Cake Decorator (PDCD?). She is responsible for the creative concept and electrocution (execution?) of our recent 4th of July Donut Cake. This cake was built on spec and sold on EBAY (at a steal, we might add...) by savvy EBAY provocateur, Lorraine Mendoza. A custom Psycho donut cake to feed 50 people, for.... $46? Really? OMFG! Lorraine, I wanna go shopping with you! Want your own custom Psycho donut cake? We can do CrAzY pstuff... call (408) 320-8469, and schedule a Psycho Consultation. You might just land in a reality show...

And finally, although Psycho typically shies away from press opportunities (yeah, right), we were thrilled to be featured in this piece by
The Examiner, and in this great foodie review on Grub Crawl.

Crazy Moms, JasoNuts for Fri 13th, and Psycho Winos

Psycho Donuts is going off the rails for your crazy mom! Bring your mom to Psycho Donuts for a strangely memorable Mother's Day.

Chief Psycho's mom loves a Sunday morning Mimosa - where she'll enjoy a real drink before noon - guilt free! This Mother's Day - treat your mom to a MOMosa! Our
Psycho MOMosa is filled with a champage pastry creme, and topped with orange icing, a citris swirl, and rainbow sprinkles. Fancy enough for sophisticated moms, crazy enough for the rest. And for your mother in-law, how about our Arsenic MOMosa (we kid, we kid...).

Maybe mom isn't crazy, but you are (hmm, recessive gene from Dad?). Show mom how crazy you are for her this Mother's Day, with a Mom Tattoo. Not on your arm, Mama's Boy - on our Mother's Day specialty donut!
A Mother's Love is filled with white chocolate and passion-fruit creme, topped with a strawberry icing and a MOM tattoo.

Friday the 13th is quickly approaching. And Psycho Donuts is ready with The JasoNut. In honor of Friday the 13th, our Jason Donut is a blood-filled donut, with a powdered sugar hockey mask on top (you can pretend the blood is raspberry jelly if you'd prefer). Be very scared! Come get your JasoNut starting Monday, May 9.

Our Ballz department is pleased to announce our newest variety of Psycho Ballz. This month, you'll enjoy our
Nutty Ballz. Chocolate cake donut holes, rolled in chocolate icing and chopped peanuts. Nutz and ballz have never been such great company.

And from our Very Vegan Kitchen, donut miss
The Orange Creamsikiller. This orange vegan cake donut is topped with a rich vanilla icing and orange drizzle. Guranteed to transform any contemptuous crazy carnivore into a verifiable villified vegan.

Last weekend, Psycho delivered the world's first pull-apart wine tasting donut to a wine and donut pairing event at Poetic Cellars. The crazy antics were captured on film, by LA film producers, Highlighting Entertainment. Our Psycho Wino was a big hit. Grok this: 4 donut holes fused into one. Pull apart the first piece and pair it with a Chardonnay. The second piece pulls away and is genetically engineered to pair with the Syrah... and so on. Wine pairing will never be the same without a Pull-Apart Psycho Wino on hand!

Press coverage of the Psycho Wino event at Poetic Cellars was rampant. Read about it in the Santa Cruz Sentinel, Patch.com, The Mercury News, The Huffington Post, Zagat.com, and more!

Attack of the High School Artists and Tequila Sunrise Donuts

We hope you made it to our 2 Year Anniversary and Oscars VIP Event. Crazy thanks to our existing fans and "Psycho Virgins" alike! If you were there, you may have witnessed the return of 3 lost donuts to the Psycho Mother Ship. Manic Malt, Butternut, and Lightning Lemon - lost donut souls who all found their way home safely - only to be abruptly eaten to death by rabid Psycho cannibals.

The event
was Emcee'd by The Notorious Miss Julie, who has the innate genetic skill to convert any ole thang into a crazy party! A big thanks to Miss Julie and Nurse Dylan for the idea and execution (psorry, is this sounding like an Oscar pspeech?). Thanks also to our friends at Natasha's Attic for some amazing costumes, our volunteer gang of psycho paparazzi, and our DJ VIPs - Sandy Stec from Mix 106.5FM, and Cap'n Jack from Foothill College's 89.7FM.

Psycho Chef Ron is on a cocktail donut binge. Startin
g Monday Feb 28, try our Tequila Sunrise Donut. It's loaded up with tequila creme on the inside, then topped with orange icing, grenadine, and a maraschino cherry on top. Now that's Psycho Donuts!

But that's not all... check out our new Vegan 'o The Month -- The Neopo
litan. It's a strawberry vegan cake donut, topped with half chocolate and half vanilla. Hey, it works for ice cream.

St
udent art is invading Psycho Campbell! Starting on Monday, come check out Psycho-inspired artwork from students of Westmont High School. And beginning on Tuesday, the Psycho nutcase will be overtaken by Charlotte Kruk's art students from Lynbrook High School. Check out some of their amazing psycho ceramic creations, inspired by some crazy donut shop.
